Valve has turned down movie offers

Not going to be a Half-Life movie unless they make it

It seems these days that anytime Valve CEO Gabe Newell opens his mouth something interesting new seems to come from it. Apparently in an interview with PC Gamer, Newell reveled that the company has a number of offers to make a movie out of Half-Life.

In fact, the company has been pitched multiple times on the idea of making a movie out of Half-Life. The problem with these pitches was that the stories were so bad, and they lacked an understanding at the core of what the game was all about. After a number of these meetings, a decision was made… if there was a company to get the rights to make a Half-Life movie it would be Valve. In fact, if there is going to be a Half-Life movie, Valve will make that movie itself.

Good for Valve! That is what we say. Maybe we can be saved from another video game that is turned into a movie that is so bad we can’t bear to watch it. You can read more here.
