Reboots have sold 5 million copies
News about the 3rd quarter results for Electronic Arts was announced today, and while the news wasn’t all good, the company had a couple of bright spots; but overall, the company lost money this quarter despite good sales on some key titles.

Perhaps one of the one most interesting announcements was that the rebooted versions of Medal of Honor and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit have sold over five million copies. FIFA 11 rocked the house with 11.5 million units sold, while Madden 11 has been able to move 5.5 million. Another bright spot is that the sequel to Dead Space (known as Dead Space 2) has been able to sell over 2 million copies so far after only a week of release. Dead Space 2 appears to be on track for successful sales.

EA also admitted that they are incurring significant costs in the development Star Wars: The Old Republic, which is being developed by BioWare. EA did confirm that Star Wars: The Old Republic will ship this year.
