Square Enix has now officially confirmed the rumors that we heard late yesterday that Dungeon Siege III would not make its planned May 31st release in North America. Instead, the game has been pushed out to June 14th for the North American release and June 17th for the European release.
The RPG title, which will be coming for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, is the first release in the Dungeon Siege franchise in some time. The delay is unexpected and no release has been given for the change in release date. Whispers suggest that developers need the extra time to polish up a few more things before release, as well as swat some additional bugs.
In addition, the movement of the release date could be a strategic decision to find a release date with less impact. Right now, we will just have to hope that the developers can make this release date, but we are not 100% sure that we would count on it.
