Bethesda and developer Splash Damage have announced that the Xbox 360 version of Brink has an update that is now live. The update is actually a configuration update that caps the number of human players when matchmaking in an effort to reduce the lag that some are experiencing. Since it is a server side update, no download is required.
As for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions of Brink, the PC has already gotten a patch that offered a number of fixes that was included on the day one patch that the console systems received. The matchmaking update that has been deployed to the Xbox 360 will come to the PlayStation 3 users as soon as the Network is fully restored.
Brink will get its first round of downloadable content in June. The content will include new maps and other “new content” that will be free to Brink owners. A second content pack is planned, according to the whispers that we hear, but no date has been set as to when the second DLC package will be released.
