Electronic Arts has now formally confirmed that a new Criterion Games title called Burnout Crash is coming this fall. It will be available for download in both the Xbox Live Market Place and the PlayStation Store. No pricing was announced.

The game itself is what boils down to a top down version of the “Crash Mode” that was first introduced in Burnout 3: Takedown. The focus on the Crash Mode was obvious by the amount of time players had crashing things in this mode.

Players will be able to keep their friends’ update date on their exploits using the Autolog. While we don’t expect the game to set the world on fire, it should yield some great fun.
