Nintendo apparently is really having a difficult time with the 3DS not being as successful as they hoped. Now that they have slashed the price on the 3DS there is apparently a growing concern that the move could influence potential buyers of the Wii U to wait for Nintendo to slash the price of the new console before making the move to buy.
This sentiment was echoed by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who expressed concern over the situation. The latest Nintendo spin is claiming that by slashing the price of the 3DS to stimulate sales, software will start to come in for the 3DS and this should get the platform back on track. Even with the price cut, the lack of software is apparently hurting the 3DS; and as we told you, developers are in a very wait and see mode over developing software for the platform since it has not sold that well.
Nintendo is being clear that they have no plans to drop the price on the Wii U and also no intention of following this strategy with the Wii U.
