Dead Island is getting its first major round of patches if you are playing it on the Xbox 360, but PC and Playstation 3 owners will have to wait. A number of nagging issues that have been a part of the game since launch are being addressed with this patch, as well as improvements in the matchmaking AI, fixes to address a number of problems with visuals within the game and quest/escort fixes.

While a number of reviewers have reported a variety of issues, it will be welcome news that the fixes are coming. PC and PlayStation 3 owners of Dead Island will still be getting an update, but it is in the pipeline for release at later time. We have no idea of when that might be.

Dead Island has been a surprise hit for Techland, and it is expected that this isn’t the last of the patches and content that we will see for the title. However, sources suggest that the expected DLC content will be on the back burner for a bit while the developer focuses on patches to stamp out the bugs and tighten the game up before adding more content.
