It comes as little surprise that Valve is quite content staying in the space they are in, and expansion into portables and phones isn’t something that they are looking to do since Valve’s engine isn’t optimized for that space.

Valve will continue to be all about the PC and console platforms going forward, which isn’t a real surprise. The news from Valve, while expected, seems to go against the grain from what many other developers are doing these days.  Of course, Valve has always been different, but that doesn’t mean that they will not venture into this space in the future.
