The Motion Pictures division of Ubisoft has partnered with New Regency to develop a film based on the Assassin’s Creed title. The project is being fast-tracked, and development of a screenplay will start immediately.
With the franchise continuing to be so popular, it was a no brainer to get this deal done and to get started working the release of this film. The news of the New Regency partnership comes following rumors that Michael Fassenbender is or will be associated with the project.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures has been busy, as the company is also working on feature-length films based on the Ghost Recon franchise, as well as the Splinter Cell franchise, both of which are Tom Clancy franchises. In addition to the films, Ubisoft is also working on a TV series that will be based on its Rabbids franchise for kids.
