RAGE from id Software is getting some new DLC content. That’s right: RAGE, a game that we have not been talking about much since its release, is getting new DLC content some 14 months after the release of the last content.

The new DLC is called “The Scorchers” and it will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the game. It will carry a price tag of 400 Microsoft Points, or $4.99 for those scoring at home.

The content is a new adventure that will let players fight alongside new allies to defend the Hagar Settlement from a new clan known as the Scorchers. The Scorchers are best described as maniacal bandits who are some of the worst baddies yet.

In addition, the DLC also contains new mini games for a new season of Mutant Bash TV that includes the ability to give the Nail gun a try. The DLC also adds a new mode called the Ultra-Nightmare difficulty mode, just in case the hardest modes were not challenging enough. A new Extended Play mode allows the game to be played past the original ending to collect additional items and earn or finish off achievements.

It is hard to say what level of interest this DLC will draw; however, with the low price tag and RAGE being discounted for sales it could prove to be fun for those new to the game and for fans who might want to go back for a second helping.
