PS4 getting Ultimate Edition of Injustice

by on08 October 2013

Warner elects to snub Xbox One with release

The PlayStation 4 has another launch day exclusive thanks to Warner Bros. Warner Bros as confirmed a new Ultimate Edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us for the PlayStation 4. In addition Warner Bros will be releasing the Ultimate Edition for the PS Vita and PC. (The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will also get the Ultimate Edition as well, but the Ultimate Edition is apparently skipping a Wii U release.)

The Ultimate Edition will feature all of the content from the original game as well as all of the DLC content in one package. The Ultimate Edition will be released on November 12th in North America, followed by a November 29th in Europe. It will cost a full $59.99 for the console versions, but the PC version will be priced at $49.99 and the PS Vita version will cost only $39.99. Warner Bros claims that the Ultimate Edition includes a whopping $120 in DLC content.

What is interesting about this announcement is that apparently for the next gen console release, it will be Sony exclusive and Warner Bros has elected to snub the Xbox One with this offering. According to sources, the PlayStation 4 conversion/port was handled by High Voltage and does include some next gen PS4 functionality including Touchpad support, video sharing/streaming, and the PS4 version also carries the claim that it was “remastered for next-gen technology”.

Other than the decision to make the Ultimate Edition a PS4 exclusive, Warner Bros has had no comment about the decision or the reasons behind it. We suspect that the reason had to do with some bags of money perhaps? Just a guess on our part.
