The Crew expected to sell 2.5 million

by on17 October 2013

Despite delay the forecast remains unchanged

As we told you about yesterday, Ubisoft has pushed back The Crew to the middle of next year. Despite changing the release date for the game, the publisher isn’t changing its sales projection for the game. Ubisoft believes that The Crew will be able to move 2.5 million copies which is actually pretty good for a racing game according to the publisher.

According to Ubisoft the reason for the delay was to “give the developer the chance to fulfill their huge ambitions and thus offer the players an even more exceptional experience.” The quote comes from none other than Ubsoft CEO Yves Guillemot who remains upbeat about the chance for success for their title.

While Ubisoft still believes that the bigger franchise potential is in Watch Dogs, it has a lot of hope for the success of The Crew as well. Ubisoft would like to cash in on at least a part of the racing games that has been dominated by Microsoft, Sony, Codemasters, and recently EA after getting the Need for Speed series back on track again.
