EA says biggest audience on 360 & PS3

Everyone just seemed to assume that the upcoming FIFA World Cup soccer would be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. EA has finally confirmed that this is in error, and that the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will only be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

EA says that the decision was made to limit the game to the largest audience, the owners of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While they have will some FUT content that goes along with the 2014 World Cup, a decision was made that the game would focus on these platforms; however, since this decision was made, EA has admitted that they have seen a larger than expected drop-off in the sales of titles for the 360 and PS3 at the end of last year.

While EA is promising some World Cup content for FIFA around the same time as the World Cup for owners of FIFA on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, there is no word on whether this content will be free or if EA will be charging for it. It does seem that the decision to restrict the game to just the 360 and PS3 might have been the wrong decision, but we will find out in mid-April when the game launches.
