2015 to be a big release year for EA

2014 will ramp us up into the 2015 releases

After watching the Electronic Arts press conference, I was left saying how great 2015 looked. That’s right, 2015 looks to be a banner year with the release of Star Wars Battlefront from DICE in September of 2015. Really, I almost could have stopped watching the presser after the Battlefront news, but a wondered what else they might have in store.

Speaking of DICE, they are working on a new Mirror’s Edge 2 and what they are calling Faith for a new generation. No release date was provided, but given the way it was presented, we have to think it will be at least very late next year or early 2016 before we will actually see the game on dealer shelves.

Bioware showed some concept art for Mass Effect 4 which is being developed by Bioware Montreal for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. No real release news here, but were are guessing it will be a 2015 title as well, but it could push into 2016, so who knows.

Criterion is working on a new project without an actual title at the moment, it goes beyond cars and has boat, jetskis, planes, motorcycles, and all kinds of terrain and environments. It currently has no release date, but it has been in development for awhile, but we sort of got the feeling that the game had or was changed, so I don’t think it is a 2015 title, but if it is, it will be late 2015 for sure.

The next PGA Golf game is being developed using the Frostbite Engine. EA is using the tagline, “Golf without Limits” to promote it. We can look forward to it in the spring of 2015, but that was about all that was said. It does look quite good.

UFC, Madden 15, NHL 15, FIFA 15, are all coming this year in 2014. The Sims 4 is coming for the PC on September 2rd.

This all brings us to Battlefield: Hardline and it looks good and seems to play quite well. The beta starts today on the PlayStation 4 and PC. No word if Xbox users are going to get a chance to play the Hardline beta as well, but we suspect they will at some point in the near future.
