“Big Surprises” for Gamescom presser

by on04 August 2014

Microsoft sets date for August 12th

Microsoft is teasing big things for this year’s Gamescom press briefing which will take place on August 12th at 1:00pm BST. This will be the first time in recent years that Microsoft will broadcast its Gamescom press conference publically. Microsoft will stream the Gamescom presser online where those interested will be able to watch it on their Xbox, Xbox.com or Windows Phone.

With Microsoft’s announcement of a 1:00pm BST start time, they will go first with Sony to follow at 6pm BST and Electronic Arts to follow the next day in the morning. Microsoft is promising “big surprises” for this year’s event, but it is anyone’s guess as to what this might mean. We do suspect that some of the things that were “cut” form the E3 press conference will be talked about or shown here.

As for what Microsoft might show, sources say that more Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2 are a lock, with likely a first look at actual game play footage from Quantum Break. However, it seems fans are more interested in hear more about the new Halo and maybe at least some information about the new Gears of War that is under development at Black Tusk.
