It didn’t take long for the official confirmation to come. In a posting on the Forza community site, it was announced that the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 would not be getting any DLC content and if that was not enough, it was also announced that playing the game would not count toward your Forza Rewards score.
Brian Ekberg who is the Forza community manager make the announcement posting and its reception that the DLC and Forza Rewards would be Xbox One exclusive was met with less than pleased replies from those who purchased the Xbox 360 version of the game.
He also went on to say that the Forza Rewards was previously announced as an Xbox One exclusive program. Previously it was reported from a number of sources that the Xbox 360 version would be getting car pack DLC, but it seems that there has been some backtracking on that original plan.
While the Xbox 360 version was developed by Sumo Digital and has been reported elsewhere, it is a dubbed down conversion of the Xbox One version to meet the limitations of the Xbox 360, it still is quite playable. It could be that this might be at least an indication of the swan song of Xbox 360 development from Microsoft Studios, but some are viewing it as tactic to force players into upgrading to the new Xbox One.
