I find your lack of cash disturbing

EA games is starting to hack gamers off by making them pay a premium rate for a game and then hit them with demands for microtransactions.

To win Star Wars Battlefront 2 gamers  which you paid $60 for you can either play until you can unlock heroes or pay EA Games cash. EA say this is optional but players have begun estimating how long you’ll need to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 to unlock heroes without microtransactions and it is rather a long time.

Some users have estimated that it could take roughly 40 hours of playtime to unlock the likes of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker without the use of microtransactions.

Heroes in Battlefront 2 can be unlocked with credits, with 250-350 earned in the average multiplayer match depending on your performance.

One Reddit user has compiled a detailed list of statistics listing match times and the commitment required to unlock loot crates and other trinkets. For example, a Trooper Crate will take 159 minutes of playtime.

So players may need to grind continuously to unlock iconic characters from the Star Wars, which is a huge appeal in Battlefront 2 for hardcore fans.

Meanwhile some spotty Herbert with his mum’s credit card can buy in all that power.

The EA Community Team has made an official response on the matter on Reddit, and it hasn’t gone down well. At the time of writing, it now has over 125,000 down votes on the site.

”Our goal involves creating a compelling progression path for all of our players. There’s a lot of content at launch with even more coming via live service, and we’ll continuously adjust our progression mechanics to give players a sense of accomplishment as they explore all of Battlefront 2.

“Heroes earned through Credits: The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes. We selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.’
