Bethesda officially announces Rage 2 game

Updated: Gameplay trailer is live

After the leaked trailer seen yesterday, Bethesda has now officially announced Rage 2, a new open-world first-person shooter game developed by Avalanche Studios.

The Rage 2 is actually a successor of id Software's Rage game, developed under the supervising stick of John Carmack, so hopefully, it will live up to its name.

As noted, Rage 2 is developed by Avalanche Studios, the same people that were behind Just Cause and Mad Max games, and have worked with Bethesda on a couple of other titles as well.

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of details regarding the game, as Bethesda has only shared an official announcement trailer, with the first gameplay trailer expected later today. We do know it is an open-world first-person shooter, and we expect it will get a lot of attention at the E3 2018 show.

We will probably see more as soon Bethesda releases the first gameplay trailer and we hope that it will be something worth the wait.

Update:

As announced, Bethesda has now officially released the first gameplay trailer for Rage 2, showing a lot of action-packed gameplay with a bunch of clans, mutants, cars and more. The game is set in the year 2185, with ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seeking to rule who remains with an iron fist. It puts you into the role of Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland.

The fresh set of information is that Avalanche Studios will co-develop this game with the original id Software developers, where Avalanche Studios will handle the open world aspect of the game while id Software people will take care of the FPS gameplay.

We are quite sure that Bethesda will reveal a bit more information at the E3 2018 show and in the meantime, here is the gameplay trailer.
