In addition to the new Xbox Series S Carbon Black 1TB that was announced during the showcase, there were plenty of games from the Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, and here are the ones that caught our eye.
Starfield was obviously the star of the show, and it had its dedicated Starfield Direct showcased that aired just after the Xbox Games Showcase. The game director, Todd Howard, and the team at Bethesda Game Studio have shared some of the details and the first gameplay for this upcoming sci-fi RPG.
As detailed, the studio put a lot of effort into the game’s character customization, as well as the way the game handles ship's crew and companions. There will be plenty of ships to choose from and ove 100 planets to discover and explore. Starfield launches on Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6. In any case, check out the trailer below.
Avowed was one of the games that definitely caught our eye as well, as this one is set in the world of Eora, familiar to those that played Pillars of Eternity games. Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed is the first-person fantasy RPG that will include swords, pistols, magic, and more, so it sounds a bit like the Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. The trailer shows a bit of the gameplay including the new combat system, beautiful scenery, and more. Avowed will be released in 2024 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
inXile Entertainment announced Clockwork Revolution, an incredible time-bending steampunk action RPG that will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC. Set in the steam-powered metropolis of Avalon, this one draws a lot from the aforementioned Arcanum and Wasteland, as these are the creators of those two games. It is also a first-person RPG, that will feature a twist, a dynamic time-bending combat. Here is the trailer, and hopefully we'll hear more about it soon.
Fable also got its time at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, with Playground Games showing a new trailer. There is not much to say about it as we are still far away from the launch so enjoy the trailer.
Turn 10 showcased Forza Motorsport, announcing pre-orders and a launch date of October 10 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It includes new tracks, new cards, and support for ray-traced global illumination on the PC, so it will look pretty good. Here is the launch trailer.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 also got its showcase, showing off the new and updated Asobo Studio Engine. It sure looks impressive.
Cities: Skylines II also got a fresh launch date set at October 24th, and the new pre-order trailer.
A big surprise was the announcement from Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world Star Wars game, that will be launching on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC in 2024.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was at the show, and it is also coming in 2024.
There were plenty of other games and you can check them out at the Xbox Live Wire.
