So says Nvidia

According to an article on Gizmodo, they've had a chat with Nvidia about the graphics in the MacBooks and it seems like there are no hardware limitations that would prevent the MacBook Pro from running Hybrid SLI, nor for instant switching between the IGP and the discrete GPU.

It all seems to be down to Apple to enable these features in software and the hope now lies in the upcoming OS X Snow Leopard release. We'll have to wait and see if Apple will actually enable these features and knowing Apple's business model, they might even charge for the privilege.

It's hard not to wonder why Apple went down this route, but then again, it's not the first time Apple have left out features in a product that makes complete sense considering the hardware used. Just having a nice design isn't enough these days to sell an overpriced notebook and we have a feeling that a lot of Apple users feel like they've been stitched up by Apple once again.
