Explains the shortage

AMD's CEO claims that big orders are responsible for the shortage of Evergreen cards, but from what multiple sources have confirmed, the company simply didn't order enough 40nm wafers from TSMC.

According to our sources Nvidia ordered the majority of 40nm wafer for its 40nm mobile chips that are selling great, due to a demand for Callpela Intel notebook platform and desktop chips in 40nm in the entry level were embraced by the big OEMs as they work fine and are cheap.

ATI was probably scared of GT300, Fermi and they failed to order enough of the wafers on time, as ATI expected GT300 to come sooner. This will cost them a lot of business but at the same time, we believe that despite this bad call, this might be the best quarter for ATI graphics in years.

If only there were some good games to push sales along, not to mention the lack of DirectX 11 games for this Christmas.
