ATI drives the point home with video

Lately we continue to be treated to all of the commercials that claim, “It is so easy, even a caveman can do it;” and ATI must have really taken this idea to heart when they set out to prove that upgrading your video card is so easy that even a monkey can do it. Showing potential customers who might otherwise be unsure about attempting a video card upgrade “how easy it actually is” was the topic for this video that is making the rounds.

To create this video ATI actually had a monkey trained to install a video card. The monkey started out by watching videos of the process and eventually graduated to attempting the process on her own. While the monkey did have some problems with adequate strength to enable her to seat the card in the PCIe slot, she was basically able to complete the process; and best of all, it does prove the point that makes for a good video.

While the tongue in cheek “monkey video” will certainly generate a lot of laughs, ATI has a full instructional video, with product manager Devon Nekechuk showing the entire process from start to finish, and with some excellent helpful hints for those attempting a video card upgrade for the first time.

This video does seem to put the monkey in its place, proving the point as part of a campaign of how fast and cost effective a graphics upgrade can be for those who want much better performance. With the sweet spot in video cards being so attractive at the moment, now is a good time to consider an upgrade if you have been on the fence, no mater your comfort level.  After all, it is so easy a monkey can do it.
