In addition to the full lineup of mobile Geforce 400M GPUs, Nvidia has silently listed the Geforce GT 420 as well. Based on a 40nm GPU, possibly the GF108, the Geforce GT 420 can be considered to be the first low-end Fermi derived card with support for DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.

The new Geforce GT 420 card will not be available in retail, at least not for now, as this is solely a OEM only card. It might been spotted in a few Dell, HP and other pre-configured systems. In terms of performance specifications, it features 48 CUDA cores, packs 2GB of 128-bit DDR3 memory and offers 28.8GB/s of memory bandwidth. The GPU has a 700MHz core clock, 1400MHz shaders and the memory is clocked at 1800MHz.

The card uses a low-profile PCB paired up with a small heatsink/fan cooler and features DVI, HDMI and D-Sub outputs. The maximum TDP is rated at 50W.
