GTC 2010: Super phones from Samsung, Nokia, LG

Jen Hsun Huang was confronted in fireside chat by Quentin Hardy, national editor of Forbes and once again, we learned some new things about Nvidia.

Huang believes that there should be many "super phones", which are basically phones bigger than an iPhone that can do a lot of cool stuff and that should be powered by Tegra 2. That is a dual-core mobile CPU of course, and Huang hopes to see it in Samsung, LG and Nokia phones.

Some of them should become reality and this is most likely to happen at some point in 2011. Tablets based on Tegra 2 might show their face in time for Xmas, but even this is quite unlikely due to a lack of good Tablet operating system available today.

Super phones sound like a nice concept and HTC Evo is what Jensen describes as a superphone, the only bad thing for Nvidia is that all high end phones today are using something other than Tegra or Tegra 2, in most cases Qualcomm's super popular Snapdragon.
