PowerColor rolls out passive HD6850

by on25 November 2010

Probably the fastest passive board around

PowerColor has announced the world’s first passive Radeon HD 6850 board, but the card is still undergoing some last minute tweaks and it’s not available just yet.

It is reference clocked, 775MHz for the core and 4000MHz for the memory and it will be marketed under PowerColor’s SCS3 brand. Of course, it’s a dual slot card, as the massive heatpipe packing cooler needs some breathing room.

After all, it has to deal with 127W, quite a bit more than we usually see on passive cards.
