HIS preparing HD 7970 IceQ X²
With dual-fan IceQ cooler
According to a post over at Expreview, HIS is working on a new, and completely custom, addition to the HD 7900 series lineup, the HIS HD 7970 IceQ X² graphics card.
The new HIS HD 7970 IceQ X² is actually the first HIS IceQ graphics card that will feature a dual-fan cooler. Although there are no details regarding the specs of the card, we are pretty sure that HIS will throw in a hefty factory overclock.
As for the cooler itself, we are looking at a dual-slot design with large heatsink that is connected to the GPU via three 6mm and two 8mm nickel-plated copper heatpipes. The big heatsink is cooled by two 112mm axial fans. According to HIS, the IceQ X² should be up to 17 °C cooler and 15 dB quieter when compared to the reference design.
