AMD spent up to $4 million on Far Cry 3 bundle

Never Settle Reloaded

It looks like AMD really didn’t want to lose the Far Cry 3 bundle deal to Nvidia, and our sources are certain that AMD had to dig deep in its pockets for it.

Our sources claim that it took AMD $4 million to secure the Never Settle and Never Settle Reloaded bundle for its high end customers. Currently AMD offers the Never Settle Reloaded for its new HD 7900 customers that can get Crysis 3 and BioShock Infinite for free.

The buyers of HD 7800 are getting BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider for free, again two quite decent titles. You can get more details here

The promotion is supposed to boost AMD sales in the high-end market, and it raised a few questions among the competition. We talked with a few AMD executives over the last few weeks and we have learned that the company wants to focus on graphics and prove the world that they are a worthy competitor.

AMD’s high end cards might not win head to head against Nvidia in sheer performance numbers, so the bundle should offer a bit more bang for buck. It remains to be seen if this promotion can boost AMD’s sales in the high end, but we are sure that AMD will turn the bull loose in 2013, as AMD really wants to push graphics in all front. Spending millions on game bundles is clear indication of that, but don't forget that heated competition is always good news for consumers.

AMD’s Never Settle Reloaded promotion is currently available in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Hungary and Ukraine. There might be more countries where the promotion is also valid, but we didn’t see them listed on the official page here.
