Although the impending price cut on the GTX 780 was quite obvious, Nvidia practically waited for the last minute to drop the price of GTX 780 and GTX 770 graphics cards. The price cut comes as news of good sales of AMD's recently launched Radeon R9 290X start to emerge, as well as the upcoming launch of the GTX 780 Ti.
According to Nvidia, the Geforce GTX 780 will drop from current US $649 down to US $499, while the Geforce GTX 770 will go down from US $399 to US $329. Although the price cut should go live tomorrow, October 29th, some retailers/e-tailers in Europe and the UK have already started to sell the factory-overclocked GTX 780 graphics cards for €430/£400 while the factory-overclocked GTX 770 graphics cards are currently selling for around €280/£240.
Nvidia also announced that it will be rolling out its The Way It's Meant To Be Played holiday bundle giving free download codes for Batman: Arkham Origins, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag games to those that buy the GTX 780 or the GTX 770, while those that buy the GTX 760 or the GTX 660 will end up with Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag games.
In addition to the price cuts, Nvidia also announced its new Geforce Experience 1.7 that includes the beta version of the Geforce Shadowplay that allows you to stream your gameplay.
