Samsung is about to introduce its first 34-inch curved monitor next month. This particular niche has been created by LG, which launched the first 34-inch curved panels earlier this year.
The Samsung S34E790C was showcased a couple of months ago and the spec sheet looks like a carbon copy of LG’s 34-inch spec. The S34E790C sports a 34-inch curved panel in ‘Curved UltraWide QHD’, or 3440x1440. The aspect ratio is of course 21:9. The panel is rated at 300cd/m2, with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a response time of 4ms. It’s an 8-bit panel, offering 16.7 million colours.
The monitor offers a 60Hz refresh rate via DisplayPort 1.2 or 50Hz via HDMI 1.4. It also sports a four port USB 3.0 hub. The S34E790C is still not available, but it’s up for pre-order on Overclockers.co.uk. The pre-order price is 995 GBP incl. VAT and the ETA is the 12th of December, so some lucky kids may even get to see one under their Christmas tree.
Fudzilla readers probably won’t, since Santa partnered with the NSA to check who’s been naughty this year. As a result, Santa is currently undergoing extensive therapy and he’s said to be suffering from PTSD, among other things.
