28-inch ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 4K available for £389.99

While Nvidia's G-Sync ready monitors have been around for quite some time, AMD has lived up to its promise that we will see the first AMD FreeSync ready monitors by the end of the year.

While it was expected that Samsung or some other big monitor manufacturer would be the first to launch AMD FreeSync enabled monitor, the first one actually comes from Iiyama and it is currently available over at Overclockers.co.uk for £389.99 inc. VAT. To make things even better, the Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 is a 28-inch 4K/UHD monitor that is way cheaper than similar monitors with G-Sync, or even 4K/UHD monitors with no sync technology at all.

According to what we can see, the Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 does not actually support AMD FreeSync out of the box, but Iiyama will offer a free upgrade to FreeSync.

While the Acer XB280HK G-Sync 4K/UHD monitor is currently selling at Overclockers.co.uk for around US $770, the AMD FreeSync Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 costs around US $600. The same Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 monitor is already listed in Europe for around €470 depending on the region and comes with a three year warranty.
