Game Ready drivers for some games

Nvidia has released its newest Geforce 384.76 WHQL drivers which are Game Ready drivers for Lawbreakers Rise Up Beta and VR Ready drivers for Spider-man: Homecoming VR, but also bring problems for Watch Dogs 2 game.

According to release notes, the new Geforce 384.76 WHQL drivers should provide the optimal gaming experience for Lawbreakers “Rise Up” Beta game as well as optimal VR experience for Spider-man: Homecoming VR game. The new drivers also add a debug option in the Help menu of the Nvidia Control Panel which removes all overclocking performance and power settings.

The Geforce 384.76 WHQL drivers also adds SLI profile for FIFA 17 as well as fixes some issues including a typo in Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances game name in the Stereoscopic 3D Compatibility page, fix a CPU bottleneck when 3DVision is enabled on GTX 1080/1070/1060 graphics cards, fix stuttering in Prey 2, fix issues with Firefall game, fix Gamestream streaming issue in DirectX 12 titles, fix issues with SLI and Norton 360 on GTX 970, fix issues with Vulkan API in Doom 2016, fix corruption issues with SLI in No Man's Sky and fix issues of choppy video playback on Windows Store video app when V-Sync is off.

On a similar note, some Reddit users have noticed that Nvidia has quietly added DirectX 12 support to Fermi-based graphics cards, which allow Nvidia GTX 400 and 500 series to run DirectX 12 applications. The support is DirectX 12 feature level 11_0, which allowed some users to run 3DMark Time Spy demo.

Unfortunately, the latest Geforce 384.76 WHQL drivers also prevent Watch Dogs 2 game from starting. The game simply won't start and reverts back to the desktop. As there is no fix for this issue, those playing Watch Dogs 2 should not update the driver or revert to Geforce 382.53 driver which works with Watch Dogs 2.

As always, the Geforce 384.76 WHQL Game Ready driver is available for Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and can be downloaded from the Nvidia driver support page or automatically via Geforce Experience software.
