Teased earlier this week, Asus held a neat product launch, and surprisingly, announced a total of three Nvidia Geforce RTX 4090 graphics cards. While we expected the RTX 4070 teaser, it appears that it is still a bit too early for such announcements, and custom RTX 4090s are probably the next best thing.
The two Asus TUF RTX 4090 OG series graphics cards are rather interesting versions, featuring a clean TUF-style design, but using a shorter PCB and smaller and slimmer triple-fan cooler, at least compared to the previously available TUF RTX 4090 versions. The cooler is quite similar to the one found on Asus' RTX 3090 series graphics cards, as it has three Axial-tech fans, with the middle one rotating in the opposite direction, thus reducing turbulence and fan noise. The fan is slimmer, taking up "just" 3.2 slots, and the card is 2cm shorter.
The new Asus TUF RTX 4090 OG series also uses a much shorter PCB, as detailed by Videocardz.com. In terms of specifications, you are still looking at a standard RTX 4090 with AD102 GPU with 16,384 CUDA cores, 512 Tensor Cores, and 128 RT cores, as well as 24GB of GDDR6X memory on a 384-bit memory interface. The standard Asus TUF RTX 4090 OG probably works at reference 2,235MHz base and 2,520MHz GPU boost clocks, while the TUF RTX 4090 OG OC version works at 2,565MHz in default and 2,595MHz in OC mode.
In addition to the two TUF RTX 4090 OG series graphics cards, Asus also unveiled liquid-cooled ROG STRIX LC Geforce RTX 4090 graphics cards. The LC uses a full-cover cold plate, cooling both the GPU and the memory, pairing it with a single blower-style cooler taking up 2.6 slots. The cold-plate is connected to a 240mm radiator via 560mm tubing. This is also a standard RTX 4090 but works at a 2,610MHz Boost clock in default mode and a 2,640MHz Boost clock in OC mode.
Unfortunately, Asus did not reveal any details regarding the actual price or the availability date.
