ATIs CEO believes that discrete graphics are here to stay and notebook and integrated graphics won’t make it disappear. This is good news for all of you who like to play games as the super expensive cards are here to stay.

The shipment percentages in certain market segments will change but they change all the time. The overall discrete market was always at 100 million GPUs and Dave recons that this won’t change in the future.

The other issue is who actually sells more from this 100 million but integrated market won’t take that much of a share. We believe that DAAMIT counts discrete mobile chips in this number.

We also need discrete and high end graphics for GP GPU and AMD is really warmed about this.
