Razer Nabu ships tomorrow

by on01 December 2014

December 2nd $99 in North America

Razer made quite at lot of noise at CES 2014 with its Nabu smart wristband and it looks like the company is finally ready to start shipping it. Everybody expected to see it shipping a bit earlier this year, but since this is the first wearable for Razer, we are not surprised that it took a while to polish this product.

Many people were surprised by the Razer Nabu wearable and how advanced it was compared to most competing designs. As of tomorrow, December 2nd, you will finally be able to buy one. The offer is only valid if you live in North America and Razer plans to sell you one for $99.99, which is the regular price, but a few early birds might get it for the promotional price of $79.99.

The store will be available to Razer pre-registered insiders and you might want to do it until Sunday, December 7th. The first batch of 5,000 Nabu wristbands will come only in black and medium-large size and will cost $79.99. After this quantity is gone, end users will be able to buy smaller bands too. Razer Nabu will launch in white or green colour options, while orange comes sometime later.

The Nabu wristband sounded a lot better when it was showcased in January of 2014, before Google announced its Android Wear platform. Nabu now faces fearsome competition against some established players such as FItBit and a lot of Android watches. We believe Nabu will have an ecosystem problem, as not many developers will chose Razer over Google's ecosystem. Qualcomm had the same issue with Toq smartwatch. It was a decent smartwatch with a few days bettery life, but we missed a lot of external apps to make it really useful.

If you want to grab one of the Nabu wristbands better get it tomorrow while it's still $20 USD cheaper.
