Marc Naddell, vice president of MediaTek Labs, said:

The LinkIt Assist 2502 is a modular platform, allowing developers to test interoperability of other components and speed up testing.
While we’ve seen the Aster MT2502 in some products, so far there haven’t been that many. However, the tiny chipset can power smartbands and smartwatches for days on a single charge, although it’s not an Android Wear platform.
MediaTek’s MT2601 is the company’s first SoC specifically designed for Android Wear, but since it was announced less than two months ago, it’s still not available in commercial devices.
