LG Watch Urbane Comes in Limited Luxe Edition

Shiny happy gold covers our favorite Android Watch

LG seems to have caught on to the fact that it struck gold with the Urbane design, so now they've decided to tap Reeds Jewelers to cover the Urbane in real, 23 karat, gold.

We've been happily using an LG Watch Urbane for a while now. It's a beautifully designed wrist computer, even though its functionality is still relatively limited by the unimaginative creators of the Android Watch software. A round screen and the real-watch look make for a very attractive piece. And without the silly "flat tire" design that Motorola doesn't seem willing to let go of, it's become our daily accessory.

In order to justify the jacked up price, the LG Watch Urbane Luxe, as the new smart timepiece is called, comes in a limited run of only 500 pieces. So, hurry up, whip out your trusted credit card and spend $1,195.00 on yet another gadget that you'll need to remember to charge.

LG Watch Urbane Luxe comes "crafted with 23k gold heavy plate, an artisanally handmade Alligator wriststrap, and a mechanical deployant clasp also in 23k gold heavy plate". Each watch is numbered and comes in a piano gloss lacquered case, with a certificate of authenticity. You can even purchase additional alligator skin wriststraps, if you don't like the default brown. More importantly, the Urbane Luxe is covered by a two-year warranty, so the lucky 500 should be covered until actually useful android watches are launched.

Oh, and aside from the bling factor and your friends' envy, should you decide to splurge on this latest eye catcher, you'll get the internals from the standard LG Watch Urbane.
