eVCI cooling, aka vapor chamber cooling

Mushkin has announced the launch of a new high-performance line of memory modules called Ascent. The new Ascent series will be known for the use of Celsia's eVCI, vapor chamber cooling solution.

The mentioned eVCI (enhanced Vapor Chamber Interface) is designed by Celsia exclusively for Mushkin's Ascent line. The new eVCI has two 123mm x 25mm liquid filled copper vapor chambers encased by 6063 aluminum alloy. With 95% of the memory chip surface area covered, this should help in quickly transferring the heat to the aluminum part, thus bringing lower temps to the modules.

Mushkin has started its Ascent XP memory with two modules and two kits. The DDR2 part has 2GB modules and a 4GB kit which works at 1066MHz with 5-5-5-15 latencies. The DDR3 edition has 1GB modules and 2GB kits working at 2GHz with 9-9-9-24 latencies.

The Ascent XP series should be available soon through Mushkin authorized resellers.
