by on06 January 2011

SATA 6.0Gbps and 480/320 MB/s speeds
Corsair took CES 2011 by storm and announced a handful of products that will be available in the first quarter of 2011. One of them is the Performance 3 Series of solid state drives.

These 2.5-inch flash heavens are based on Marvell's 9174 controller, have 128MB of cache, SATA 6.0Gbps interface and will be available in 64, 128 and 256GB capacities. The performance, or transfer speed, varies depending on the model so the 64GB one will be able to max out at 365MB/s for read and 110MB/s for write. The 128GB model will have 410MB/s read speed and 210MB/s write speed, while the top offer, 256GB one will top out at 480MB/s for read and 320MB/s for write.

There's no word on pricing as of yet, but Corsair announced availability by the end of this month, so we'll certainly keep an eye out for them.
