NAND flash demand still down

by on22 May 2012

So much for ultrabook demand

Beancounters at DRAMeXchange said that despite demand for new smartphone, tablet PC, and ultrabooks NAND flash sales are down.

The beancounters calim that it is all due to macroeconomic uncertainties and the weak second quarter sales. Affected by weak demand NAND flash contract price fell by 8-14 per cent. Many NAND flash suppliers think that things will be going badly for the this year and TrendForce believes there will be an oversupply for the rest of the year.

Due to the delayed release of certain new smartphone, tablet PC, and ultrabook models, the industry will not see significant demand increase until the middle of the third quarter.
