ADATA has released its flagship Ultimate SU900 SSD that is based on a standard 2.5-inch form-factor and powered by an SMI 2258 controller with 3D MLC NAND flash.

Coming in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, the ADATA Ultimate SU900 SSD series is based on a standard 2.5-inch 7mm-thick form factor and combines Silicon Motion's SMI 2258 controller with 3D MLC NAND for improved reliability, longetivity and performance, backing it up with a five-year warranty.

Performance-wise, the Ultimate SU900 peaks at 560MB/s read and 525MB/s write sequential performance while 4K random performance peaks at 85K IOPS for read and 90K IOPS for write, depending on the capacity. In order to deal with MLC NAND drawbacks, ADATA has equipped the Ultimate SU900 with SLC Caching and separate DRAM Cache.

According to ADATA, the Ultimate SU900 comes with 800TB TBW (total bytes written) endurance rating and 2,000,000 hours MTBF. It also comes with RAID Engine, Software and Hardware write protection, Data Shaping, Early weak block retirement and global wear leveling, which should all help will the reliability of the drive.

Unfortunately, ADATA did not provide any details regarding th price so we will have to wait for them to appear in retail/e-tail.
