G.Skill had a lot to show at the Computex 2017 show in Taipei, revealing some of its fastest DDR4 Trident Z kits running anywhere from 4000MHz up to 4800MHz, depending on the memory modules. According to G.Skill, this puts its Trident Z DDR4 memory one step closer to the 5000MHz mark without LN2 cooling.
The fastest running 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-4800 Trident Z kit was running on Intel Core X-series CPU and ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard and at rather tight CL19-19-19-39 latency.
In addition to the DDR4-4800 16GB kit, G.Skill also demonstrated the Trident Z DDR4-4200MHz 64GB (8x8GB) High Capacity Kit, running on Asus Prime X299-Deluxe motherboard and Core X-series CPU at CL19-21-21-41 latencies, Trident Z RGB DDR4-4400MHz 16GB (2x8GB) kit running on Gigabyte X299 SOC Champion motherboard at CL19-19-19-39 latencies and the Trident Z RGB DDR4-4000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) kit, running also on ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard.
And in addition to Trident Z DIMM kits, G.Skill also showed its new Ripjaws SO-DIMM 32GB (2x16GB) kit, running on the EVGA SC17 gaming notebook at DDR4-3466MHz CL16-18-18-43.
It certainly appears that the new Intel X299 platform gave G.Skill enough room to push its memory kits to a whole new level and although G.Skill did not reveal any specific dates, these should start appearing in retail/e-tail in the next couple of months.
