Sony Ericsson today announced that it has joined the WiMAX forum.

Mats Lindoff, Sony Ericsson's CTO said: "Sony Ericsson's membership in the WiMAX Forum is a logical step as we seek tounderstand the technology and the opportunities in the marketplace."

The WiMAX Forum now consists of 457 companies devoted to promoting wireless products and services based on the IEEE 802.16/ETSIHiperMAN standard.
