Several dozen Android apps have been taken off the Android Market after they were found to contain malware.

The inherent openness of the Android platform seems to be at fault, as the apps were not screened in line with Google policies. The apps were released by several users and they contain DroidDream malware, which could steal personal data.

Google is looking into the matter and we guess the guys over at Cupertino will have something to laugh about with their lattes.
