While AT&T continues test and work on its deployment of LTE, the company has apparently been turning up both Atlanta and Chicago for testing. While it isn’t currently available to the public, the 4G LTE from AT&T has been clocked at speeds of 25Mbps down and 8Mbps up. (It is, of course, unknown if these are the speeds AT&T will offer for the service.)
Coverage in Atlanta appears to be much better than Chicago, where it is spotty at best. Chicago is apparently not that far along in the deployment. AT&T is apparently still planning to officially launch the new 4G LTE late summer.
