Nokia announces new Asha 310

Affordable 3-incher with dual SIM and WiFi


Nokia has announced a new entry-level smartphone that will be a part of its Asha series, the 3-inch Asha 310.

Built around a 3-inch (400x240) capacitive touchscreen, the new Asha 310 features a 2-megapixel main camera, 20MB of intenal memory expandable by a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and the dual-SIM option. The phone is pretty much identical to the Asha 309, except for the dual-SIM part. The Nokia Asha 310 runs on an S40-based OS.  

The dual-SIM feature is based on Nokia's Easy Swap that allows an extra SIM card swapping without the need to switch off the phone, thanks to a SIM slot on the side. The main SIM is located behind the battery, while the phone itself can store unique profiles for up to five SIM cards.

The new Asha 310 will be available in Asia, Africa, India, the Middle East and Brazil with a suggeted price of US $102. 

Update: The new Asha 310 smartphone will be bundled with either 2 or 4GB microSD card depending on region.
