Intel issues smartphone in Egypt

Egyptian Telco Etisalat Misr and Intel launched a new smartphone, the Etisalat E-20, in Egypt.

The handset will be available at all Etisalat stores across Egypt, and will be powered by the 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. Running on Android it will have a 3.5-inch touchscreen, FM radio capabilities, and an expandable memory slot, as well as data support using Intel’s XMM 6265 modem for global roaming.

Intel hopes to hit the growing number of smartphone buyers in Egypt. The market has increased by of 14.19 per cent compared to 2011. Intel has wanted to get into the mobile market for sometime and has been targeting the cheap and cheerful market in developing countries.
