Google's Gem Nexus smartwatch might show up October 31st

Along with Android 4.4 KitKat

There have been quite a few rumors regarding the "rumored" Google event scheduled for October 31st, including the announcements for Android 4.4 KitKat, Nexus 5 smartphone, Nexus 10 tablet, but it appears that we might see the Gem Nexus smartwatch as well.

The freshest rumor comes from Artem Russakovskii, co-founder of Android Police, who claims to "feel relatively confident about but either don't have visual evidence or a second confirmation, so I'm going to keep them to G+.” If the rumors are true, Google might be one step ahead of Apple and could score big considering that every analysts predict a huge boom in the wearable gadget market, which is expected to hit 64 million units by 2017.

While Samsung managed to get ahead of the competition with Samsung Galaxy Gear, which did not get much praise considering it is more of a companion device for Samsung Galaxy smartphones rather than a usable device on its own, Google still has a chance to be the first one with an actually useful, brand agnostic device.

Google still has to confirm the rumor about the event, let alone any device that might be announced there so take all these rumors with a grain of salt.
