As Android updates usually take weeks and months to trickle down to non-Nexus devices, the new version is currently running on just 1.1 percent of all Android devices. These include the Nexus 5, along with some Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 devices. The Fudzilla team currently uses three Nexus devices and all got the official OTA update over the last ten days.
Android 4.1.x Jelly Bean is still the dominant OS version, with a 37.4 percent share. Android 4.2.x and 4.3 have a share of 12.9 and 4.2 percent respectively. Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x) still runs on 18.6 percent of all Android devices, while the three year old Gingerbread is still on 24.1 percent of devices.
Only Android 4.4 features API level 19, while 4.3, 4.2.x and 4.1.x versions support API levels 15 through 16. Gingerbread is limited to API level 10.
