Huawei is working on a Huawei P9 flagship phone that has a 5.2 Full HD 1920x1980 display and 2.5Ghz Kirin 955 SoC.

The Huawei Mate 8 has started to show up in reviews in January. This was the first phone launching with a Cortex-A72 based Kirin 950 SoC. Since this is a 6 inch device, it was not the smallest on the market but it got positive reviews.

The P9 flagship phone has a Kirin 955 and the name suggests it will have a slightly faster SoC. It comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD display too. The Kirin 950 has four Cortex-A72 cores at 2.3 GHz  and four 1.8 GHz Cortex A53 cores. The GPU that drives the SoC is the Mali T880 MP4. The new Kirin 955 works at 2.5Ghz.

Gizmochina claims that the phone has 4GB Ram, 32GB/64GB storage, 12 megapixel dual rear cameras (for depth on field feature) and an eignt megaxpixel front camera. The phone should come with USB Type C, and a 2900 mAh battery with 5V 2A and fast charging support.

The Huawei P8 is expected to sell for about 2888 Yuan or $444 but this is subject to change. We thought the P9 flagship phone would appear on the February 21 before the e Mobile World congress press conference, but the source is confident that the phone will launch at a separate event after the Mobile World congress in Barcelona.
