As expected, the first Razer smartphone is quite a beast, at least specification wise, and focuses on what it claims is an exceptional screen, audio and performance. Measuring at 158.5 x 77.7 x 8 mm (6.24 x 3.06 x 0.31-inch) and tipping the scale at 197g, the Razer Phone is pretty big and heavy but justifies it with front-mounted stereo speakers, all aluminum CNC chassis, hefty 4,000mAh battery and a 5.7-inch 120Hz Sharp IGZO 2560x1440 resolution screen with UltraMotion technology and Wide Color Gamut, placed behind Gorilla Glass 3.
The heart of the Razer Phone is Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 835 SoC paired up with 8GB of dual-channel LPDDR4-1866 RAM and 64GB of storage, expandable by 2TB via microSD card slot. The rest of the specifications include the aforementioned stereo front mounted speakers with dual amplifiers, Dolby ATMOS, and THX, but it also lacks a standard 3.5mm audio jack.
As far as cameras go, the Razer Phone comes with the main rear dual-camera with 12-megapixel f1.75 wide lens and 13-megapixel f2.6 zoom lens, dual-tone and dual LED flash, seamless zoom with image fusion, an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. It also has standard connectivity options with 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and LTE. It also has a fingerprint sensor and it is located in the power button on the side.
Razer was quite proud of the 4,000mAh battery which, according to Razer, is enough for 12.5 hours of movies, 63.5 hours of music or full 7 hours of gaming. Razer Phone is also one of the first to use Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ technology that should get you from zero to 85 percent in one hour of charging.
The Razer Phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with a promised update to Oreo coming in Q1 2018. Razer also teamed up with Nova Launcher creators to make the special Nova Launcher Prime Razer Edition on top of the Google OS.
According to Razer, the Razer Phone will be available in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Denmark, and Sweden as of November 17th directly from Razer's official store with a price set at US $699.99/€749.99/£699.99. Pre-orders will be opened on 3rd of November and the phone will also sell on Microsoft Store in the US and Canada as well as some other networks in various regions, including Three in the UK, Ireland, Denmark, and Sweden.
Razer will also be offering 1,337 special edition units with a green logo on the back, but there are no precise details regarding the price or the availability.
